Sacred Journeys, LLC offers an environment of unconditional positive regard where clients can heal and grow. I approach mental health from a holistic mind/body perspective and often incorporate meditation, mindfulness and activity into the therapeutic process.
"Active therapy" can be especially helpful in working with issues of self esteem, anxiety, depression, and addiction. In addition to "active therapy", I have also found that meditation and mindfulness can be especially helpful for children who have trouble with focus and concentration.

Nicole R. Dodson (formerly Windsor), M.A, LPC completed both her B.A. and M.A. work in Psychology at the University of West Georgia. She is licensed as a professional counselor in the state of Georgia and has worked with at risk children and families for over 10 years. In addition, Nicole has extensive experience working with adolescents who face a myriad of challenges along their way to becoming healthy, well-adjusted adults. She has worked closely with the Latino community for almost 15 years, and also enjoys working with the disenfranchised population. She employs an array of expressive therapies in order to assist clients in addressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues, anger management issues, as well as self-esteem issues. Nicole also draws from the theories of Hakomi, a Body-Centered Psychotherapy, as well as Internal Family Systems Therapy. Nicole is especially interested in the mind/body connection and its implications for natural healing. She often incorporates meditation and mindfulness in order to assist clients in connecting to their own sources of healing and inner wisdom.
Nicole feels that by assisting clients in exploring their own talents, wisdom, and life stories, they will be more empowered to make healthier choices and move toward a life of fulfillment and positive change. Nicole works closely with the non-profit organization, Communities in Schools, where she teaches self-empowerment classes to high school girls at the Performance Learning Center and at Villa Rica High School. She is certified in MDFT both as a therapist and as a supervisor. In addition, Nicole has been a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer since 2008 and approaches mental health from a holistic, mind/body perspective.
